The winner is....Playtex Drop-Ins

After trying six different bottles, we found one that Erik will take!!! The winner is Playtex Drop-Ins. I never expected to have this much trouble with bottle feeding, but this past weekend we really gave it a go and Erik was not having any of it. Pedar tried for most of the day on Sunday to get Erik to take a bottle and he battled it all day long. I was hoping to have a night off and drive into the city with my dear friend Melanie to see Margie's show! No kids, just fun!! But...I knew on Sunday night that Pedar would be in a bad spot if I left him with Erik for that many hours. I decided to take Erik with me to San Francisco to see Margie's show. My parents drove and we had a good time. It wasn't the relaxed evening I was hoping for, but I was able to support Margie and that was my priority!

After Monday my goal has been to get Erik on a bottle. I did a little research and started buying bottles. This is all new to me because Casey was primarily bottle fed from two months. Erik was taking a bottle, but he started to refuse me, so I stopped with the bottle.

Today I went to Target and decided to buy three more different types of bottles. I was starting to feel really stuck! I haven't been away from Erik for more than three hours in four months. I need a break people!! That, and I am going back to work on June 1st. Our lovely daycare provider needs to be able to feed Erik!!

I tried the bottle and was so surprised when he didn't fight me on it. I thought for sure he wouldn't take it from me and I would have to wait till Pedar got home. Pedar had an Explorit Board meeting tonight and wasn't going to be home till after 9 p.m. I am so happy that I tried it! When Pedar got home I handed him the bottle and we both just laughed while we watched our "sack of sugar" drink happily!! WOO FREAKING HOO!!

I am now sitting here thinking of all the things I am going to do!! I am not going to think about the past months that I could have had more freedom. That will hurt to much. I am just going to celebrate this moment. Thank you Playtex! Thank you!

Sand box.. slip-n-slide.. and a super fun Big Wheel..

It was 90 degrees in Sacramento today! Pedar thought we should go get Casey a slip-n-slide...what a fabulous idea!! Casey and Pedar had a rocking good time and I look forward to getting in on the slip action soon! Erik and I watched the show from the shade.

Oh..oh...this weekend we finally filled the beautiful sandbox that Pop Pop Jim built Casey. It looks terrific under the Mulberry tree....plus Casey stays cool in the shade. While at the Emigh Hardware buying sand, we picked up our veggies and herbs! We have several tomatoes, zucchini, squash and herbs growing right this very minute in our manure-rich, beautiful soil! Woo Hoo!

I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not..but the Easter Bunny brought Casey a Big Wheel for Easter...and he LOVES it! He has a big boy bike and we have begun working with him without the training wheels..but Casey isn't in a huge hurry to ride without training wheels..so this Big Wheel is just his kind of ride.

So...we had a great weekend! I think we all have new freckles from enjoying the amazing weather and we look forward to many more days spent outside.

Happy Birthday Lola!

Oh my goodness, our beautiful niece Lola is two-years-old! We love you!!

Happy Birthday Nana/Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom!

We all love you so much!! Whenever I am feeling overwhelmed with my two guys, I just think of you with three babies under three-years-old...living away from all of your Bay Area family. When I think of my Mom I think of her muffins and cookies and color-coordinating outfits. I think of her amazing seamstress skills..she literally sewed me into my senior ball dress as my date was waiting. Mom, you are so talented and loving and beautiful! I love you! I hope you have a wonderful day today!

Easter party

Easter Baptism for Erik

Erik was baptized yesterday on Easter Sunday. His godparents are Jeff and Lisa Hausman and Pedar and Dawn Remme. It was a beautiful day and his service was lovely. Erik did great during the baptism ceremony! After church, went to Great Grandma Dagny’s house for an Easter celebration.

Cousin lovin....

Our family from Portland drove all the way on Thursday to come for a nice long visit. They left this morning and we miss them already! We cannot wait till we fly in August to see them again. We had a great time. We went to the zoo and fairytale town. Ava and Casey played nonstop...they were so exhausted every evening when they finally went to bed. We love you Leif, Sierra, Ava and Lola!! Thank you for making the HUGE drive!!

Dirt under my nails...

I like to play in the dirt. I like to put pretty plants in the dirt and watch them grow. I especially like that my husband "hooks" my plants up with water by installing drip systems, which help my new green friends stay alive.

I have been gardening these past three weeks and my yard is looking so much better. I have moved several yards of bark and compost. We finally dumped our last wheelbarrow today. The big piles behind the garage are finally gone, woo hoo!

Erik and Casey are going to really love our yard some day!! I promise not to torture them with yard work..I want them to love it..but if they don't, that's OK..gardening isn't for everyone. I just want them to play and have fun in their own little park on Oxbow.
