A friend of mine is remodeling her kitchen. Her husband, who is a general contractor, is remodeling their kitchen in between jobs. You can only imagine how start and stop this process if for them, but the new kitchen is taking shape and each day I can see her smile getting bigger.
Recently I wrote her this little supportive note:
Thank you for sharing all the great information about your house remodel. Kitchens are the HEART of the home. You are going to LOVE it and if you don’t stay—the next person will appreciate it and love it. I have learned so much about how Pedar and I work together during our crazy home projects. Just lead with kindness and before you know it, this project will be over and you won’t have suffered through it, you will have grown through it. Proud of you. Looking forward to celebrating all of your many changes."
She wrote me this response:
Thank you for the AWESOME words! My new mantra is:
“Don’t suffer through it. Grow through it together!”
I need to remember my own advice. I don't need to suffer and whine when times are hard. I need to grow, so when the next hard time hits, I will be better prepared.
