Today Erik is three months old. He is a terrific baby. He falls asleep around 9:30 p.m. and only wakes once and then is up around 7 a.m. We are hoping to push his bedtime back to at least his brother's bedtime of 8 p.m. so we can have some down time together sans kids. This two kids business is hard on several levels. However, when I hug Erik and he smiles and says, "Ah goo!" It makes the lack of personal time and tiredness feel lighter. So many Mom's of two or more have responded to my vents of not having any time to complete anything with the following statement, "Oh, that's just having two kids!" I know they are right, but it is definitely an adjustment. I know how to juggle pretty well. I have been working Mom for four years before Erik was born, so I thought I would have this juggling thing down. It is definitely one of those experiences that I like to term,"What you don't know until you know!" These are experiences like being a homeowner or having a baby or getting married. You can describe your experiences and feelings, but they are so personal to each and every person...there is no way to "Get It" until you do.
The other day, after I told Pedar that I needed a break, he said the dreaded, "I understand!" I snapped back with, "No, you don't!" Did that help??..no...but sometimes you've just got to be heard! I mean how could he understand?? I have been wearing a bra 24/7 for three months. Some days I feel like a feed bag...I just don't want to be SO responsible, you know?? I just have to remind myself that nothing stays the same and it does get easier....I know this..but some days are so much LONGER than others.
Last week Casey was home with me all week because of a virus and by Friday I was ready to hoof it to the airport and book a one-way flight to Bora Bora...but instead a quick trip to the mall and a grocery shopping trip alone made me feel like I could go back home and spread some sunshine around to my guys. I realize now that I needed to get out on my own and breathe some fresh air before I send Pedar the bat signal in a panic! This weekend we have a date night planned, even hired a gorgeous (Lindsey) babysitter..we are very excited to get out.
I'm not sure I will get used to how long it takes to finish a project around the house or how hard it is to keep my house clean or how much patience and time it takes to run errands with two kids. I pray that when Erik gets bigger I will be able to hone my juggling skills so I can be more at peace and feel relaxed. Or...I will just hire a housekeeper, gardener and handyman and party like a rock star!! Yep, that's the ticket!!

Yesterday I accompanied Casey's class to Fairytale Town for their annual field trip. The weather was so wonderful we decided to go to the Zoo after lunch as well. Erik was a trooper and loved his first train ride at the zoo, OK...so he had no idea where we were or what we were doing, but Casey and I had fun being out of the house and seeing all the flowers blooming.
This Saturday the weather should be amazing, maybe close to 80 degrees!

My beautiful cousin Stephanie welcomed another son into her family last night. Lukas John Blasquez arrived at 7:57 p.m. on March 18th. He came into the world weighing 9 pounds and 4 ounces and 20 inches long. Stephanie and Lukas are both healthy and happy.
Stephanie and I are only three months apart in age and have always been very close. My son Casey is just eight months older than her first son Dustin and now Lukas and Erik are only two months apart. These boys are going to be great friends.
We are so happy for Stephanie and David!! We can't wait to meet little Lukas. We love you!!

Oh what a beautiful morning! Today is gorgeous. Today is our eighth wedding anniversary. Time is flying...but then if I stop and think of what we have been doing these past eight years..it feels about right. We bought a fixer upper seven years ago and that made us crazy busy. We had Casey four years ago and now we have Erik. Our lives have been so blessed. I am more in love with my handsome husband today than I thought imaginable. He is the best Dad and partner. I am so lucky.
I also want to wish Grandma Dagny a Happy 92nd Birthday today and my Aunt Rose Anne a very Happy Birthday too!
As a kid I remember being very excited every St. Patrick's day! I couldn't wait to wear my green to school and eat the yummy meal my parents would make that evening.
These things I warmly wish to you-
Someone to love
Some work to do
A bit o' sun
A bit o' cheer
And a guardian angel always near.
Here's to a long life and a merry one
A quick death and an easy one
A pretty girl and an honest one
A cold beer and another one!

We had a great weekend. Nana took Casey for the day on Saturday and we did a little shopping and cleaning and then we went out with our neighbors to sushi. Casey and Jacob had a great time playing at the restaurant and Erik slept through the entire delicious meal...got to love that kid! We love our neighbors and have missed them these past two months! It was so nice to visit and be together again.
On Sunday we visited with Mor-Mor and Pop-Pop in the morning and Nana and Pop-Pop and Bridget and Liam came over for dinner that evening. Bridget and Chuck are very excited about adding a baby girl to their family this July.
The time change is making Casey one cranky little dude...but he took a nap this afternoon!! It was a wonderful two hours.
The sun is out and I am feeling good! Here are some adorable pics from the weekend.

Erik and I went to visit our pediatrician Dr. Nunna today! We just adore her. Other than the three shots, it was a great visit. Here are Erik's stats at two months:
Weight: 11 pounds, 4 ounces (gained 4.4 pounds)
Height: 22 and 1.2 inches long (grew 2.5 inches)
At this age, Casey was 14 pounds and 24 and a 1/2 inches long. Erik might always be the little brother..or he will have a tremendous growth spurt and shock us all!
One thing is clear...he is adorable and so is his big brother! I love them both soo much! I am enjoying my time with them and want to savor every moment.

I think we are almost caught up with our much needed rain. One of the many good things about all this rain is the rainbows! I looked outside this afternoon and saw another complete rainbow! It was absolutely gorgeous.
Erik has his two-month appointment tomorrow. I can't wait to hear how much he has grown. Casey and I went to Fairytale Town recently and I wanted to share some adorable pictures. Hope everyone is doing well. So many friends and family have been troubled with awful viruses. I think Spring is just around the corner and everyone will be outside more and feeling better all around! I have been using the bike in the living room and it is so nice to work up a sweat! I look forward to riding and watching, "The Real Housewives of NYC!" tonight. That show is sooo crazy! It is so removed from my reality. We are having a "carpet picnic" tonight with Casey and watching a movie. I just finished my Trader Joes instant Chai Latte..it was OK...it isn't Starbuck's, but it will do. Hope everyone is having a good day!
