Think for yourself

Here's something to ponder:What if we could drop all the labels that we identify ourselves with, and move about the world as simply people. We get so caught up in our labels don't we?  I think it is because we want to be part of a group, because we don't want to be left out. We're all in this together and I really feel like if we stopped giving so much attention to what group we identify ourselves with, we might start to see the large picture of just being human.

"A most important feature is the analysis of the information that comes your way. And that's what I don't see enough of in this world. There's a level of gullibility that leaves people susceptible to being taken advantage of. I see science literacy as kind of a vaccine against charlatans who would try to exploit your ignorance." —Neil deGrasse Tyson

"We need to learn more about the world than we knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised by how far that gets you." Neil deGrasse Tyson
