I lost an hour. Can you find it for me please.

The boys got up this morning, got dressed and laid back down on the couch and fell back to sleep. Getting to school by 7 a.m. --instead of  8 a.m.-- is HARD.

Casey presented his Mission project today. He learned a lot from our visit to Mission Santa Cruz this weekend. We were able to see the small rooms where families lived and see how they cooked their food.

I love that Casey's school gives the students the flexibility to choose what they want and how they want to share what they learned about their mission. Some students made a traditional model, but some created a painting or built their mission in Minecraft. Casey made a cookbook. He found four recipes that were made during the time period 1791 - 1887. We decided last night to make a video to show how to make Mexican hot chocolate.

Did you know that hot chocolate was very popular among Mission Members, Neophytes and Priests alike?? We learned that the chocolate was brought from Mexico on trading ships.

  1. I love Casey's video. Thank you for the historical lesson on Mexican hot chocolate in early California, Casey.
