Warriors of all sizes

Saturday morning I headed to the hospital early to help welcome the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team and River Cats players. We also welcomed several of our kids, who later in the day participated in the game. They enjoyed meeting the players! I enjoyed seeing the warriors of all sizes meet one another and support each other.

This is Len, he stood up and told his story of how he became wounded and later a member of the softball team. Every day he pushes himself to do more. The first few days after this surgery, he just wanted to be able to take a few steps, and now he's playing baseball and helping kids learn how to play as well.
This young lady just got back from baseball camp. She loved every minute of her camp experience. She came home more confident and ready to take on the world.

These guys are fierce!
The game later that day was fantastic. These men are incredible athletes.

Our kids loved participating in the game. You can't help but be moved by the toughness of these kids.
Have I mentioned lately how incredibly lucky I am to work for Shriners Hospitals for Children - Northern California???? I leave work feeling inspired and grateful. There are so many amazing people that help kids heal so they can have the best lives possible. People are beautiful. There are so many angels on earth!! And I get to work with them!!!

Watch this video! More awesome video here. This video is about where I work
